Inspiration drawn from the history of the patriots
Bluecoat draws its inspiration from the history of American patriots, referencing the blue uniforms worn during the War of Independence. This name embodies freedom, daring, and modernity—values that the distillery claims in creating a distinctive gin, contrary to traditional London customs. The ambition is clear: to redefine American gin with a local, authentic approach, and a deep respect for raw materials. Thanks to this strong positioning, Bluecoat is today recognized as a pioneer of American artisanal gin across the Atlantic, attracting spirit enthusiasts in search of new experiences.
An artisanal and demanding distillation process
To craft its gin, Bluecoat relies on a precise and demanding distillation process, carried out in a custom-designed copper still. This small batch method allows working with high-quality American grains and natural botanicals, including American juniper with delicately spicy notes and fresh citrus, bringing a characteristic freshness. This expertise offers a subtle aromatic profile, both floral and balanced, while maintaining the identity of a modern, accessible, and elegant gin. At its historic site in Philadelphia, Bluecoat thus embodies true craftsmanship, focused on creativity and excellence. Discover other artisanal spirits in our shop.
